11,5% biere brut – sörpezsgő
Bosteels sörfőzde (1791), Buggenhout
The limitless creativity of Belgium’s finest brewmasters is faithfully reflected in the creation of a completely new style of brewing, which has opened new doors in the world of beer.
A style that combines the methods of beer and champagne production. This price is gross. The Bosteels family brewery named its biére brut beer DeuS (God). After the primary fermentation of the beer, sugar and wine yeast culture are added to the brew, which is then poured into tanks and transported to Rheims, the capital of the Champagne region, where it is bottled and then fermented in bottles for 3-4 weeks. This is followed by aging for more than a year, then the shaking (remuage) used in the production of the finest French champagnes, and finally the process of disgorging (dégorgement). DeuS is sold in an elegant, antique-style bottle, which is closed with a cork and a wire basket. DeuS went to heaven after its introduction. Fred Eckhardt, the world-renowned beer taster and critic, published the following after tasting it: “Its aroma is reminiscent of fresh apple, which is accentuated even more by the mint, thyme and lemon flavors. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a better beer.” That last sentence is an unheard-of acknowledgment from a man who has spent the last twenty-five years tasting beer. “Next to DeuS,” he added, “Champagne is boring.” He then concluded his speech as follows: ,,Gorgeous. I have never felt anything like this before”. In addition, many beer-loving and experienced beer tasters believe that biére brut beers have more character than most champagnes, and their appearance is also more elegant, since even the most highly positioned champagnes do not have such a creamy and long-lasting foam crown as DeuS.
