Gueuze beer is fermented together with 25% of black-currant juice for a rather long period of time, as fermentation in an oak barrel lasts for at least one and a half years. Its colour is that of a dark ruby. When held towards the light, it sanguinaceous, almost without any foam. Right after an intensive fruit-fragrance we feel a strongly dry, acidic flavour, in which the taste of fruits and those of lambic are harmoniously mixed. When it is swallowed, we can taste hop as well. It quickly quenches thirst.
